Nashville Bound!!!

Hello lovelies! I am just taking a quick second to fill you in on what's going on. It is 2:32 am and I am getting ready to brave the horrid conditions and start my trip to Nashville to audition for the Voice this weekend.

I do not know the wifi situation for the next week so I am not sure if there will be posts or not.

Also I made an update video on my channel with a special clip of the song for my audition.

I have to go finish packing and cleaning now (2 hours before we leave, oops). Wish me luck and expect a full report when I get home!!

Love you!

Forever 21 Fashion Wish List

As I am preparing for one of most intense yet exciting of my life I can't help but be faced with the question that has plagued millions of women, What should I wear?!?

I was taking a quick perusal of some of my favorite online stores and I though I would pick out a bunch of pieces that I slowly want to acquire in the coming months. I am also going to make a polyvore with all of the clothes that you can click on.

I just got done saving the pictures and I am afraid I may have gotten just a tad carried away...

Yikes, that list got long, but a girl can dream, right? What are some things you have been wanting? Also what are some big things going on in your life? Let me know in the comments! Hope you are having a wonderful day!

New Year, New (Healthy) Me

I'm going to be totally honest today and say the idea of writing about health on a day where I feel so lousy is pretty much the last thing I want to do. With my medical problems one issue I have is chronic abdominal pain and it is honestly just off the charts this afternoon so I was thinking rather than bore you all with that I would outline some of my health related goals for 2014. So let's get started!

My first goal is to improve my general health. I am going to be doing this with a major dietary change. After extensive research on how certain foods play into the health problems I have, I have come up with a plan that will work for me.

My second goal is very much secondary. My ultimate goal is to be healthy and if this happens in the process, that is fantastic. I am hoping that by getting some of my levels sorted out I will finally be able to lose some weight. The metabolic issue I have have made that very difficult to this point but I am hoping as we learn more about the problems that is something I will be able to overcome.

My third goal is a big one and I am not sure how easy it will be. I don't say that because of lack of follow through, it is because there are times that certain medical limitations make things hard. I want to do a
5k by the end of the year. No time requirements or anything, I just want to train and be able to complete one without too much pain. I understand that a 5k is not a huge deal but as I said, with my medical limitations, being able to do a 5k would mean the world to me.

Do you have any health goals for the new year? If so let me know in the comments, we can help each other through!

Much love, hope you are having a great day!

Partying with Demi Lovato?? || Neon Lights Tour Tickets

Wow this past week was crazy. Where do I even begin. Maybe I will leave that for another post. One amazing thing that did happen this week was I started working at even more jobs, it's crazy, I know. Because of this, I have been able to buy myself a ticket to something that is one of the most exciting things in my life. If you watch my youtube videos or follow me on twitter you will know that Demi Lovato is one of my biggest idols ever. You also will know how much I love Little Mix. A few months back I bought tickets to see the Neon Lights Tour with Demi Lovato, Little Mix and 5th Harmony. I had presage codes and took the day off from work, yes I understand how crazy that sounds, and ended up with 10th row floor seats!!! Well, my all time favorite song is Believe in Me by Demi and she announced that she was going to be singing it at the soundcheck parties. I have gone back and forth on wanting to get soundcheck tickets since they were released. I love Demi and she has changed my life and to get to be at soundcheck would be a dream com true, but tickets are $75 each, and I would need one for me and my mom since she is coming to the concert with me. I talked to my mom and she said that she would bring me early for soundcheck and I would only have to get one ticket. I worked really hard all week and found other jobs to take and was able to make the money for my ticket, so I bought it!!! She doesn't know it but I am saving to get one for my mom as well because I have made her a big Demi fan and she loves Little Mix. It is looking like that day is going to shape up to be one of the most amazing.
Now for something unrelated. SCHEDULE CHANGE!! If you read my post a while back with my blogging schedule you will know that I have had problems getting post out everyday. Trust me when I say that is not for lack of trying. Between work and writers block I have been having the hardest time. I decided that I was going to change up my schedule a little bit so that I would have an easier time writing about each topic. Monday is going to still be music related. Tuesday is going to be health related posts. Wednesday is going to be beauty. Thursday is going to be DIY. Friday is going to be fashion. Saturday is going to be random. Sunday is going to stay a weekly wrap up/reflection. I hope you will like the new schedule. I took out some of the things that were making my writers block worse and added some that I have been wanting to write about. If you have any suggestions make sure to comment or tweet me @lovefromkelsey. I am still flogging everyday on youtube.com/kelstalks. I had some computer problems so I am having to edit everything tonight and get all of my previous vlogs up now, but I haven't missed a day! Between daily vlogs, daily blog posts, working as a tutor, doing graphic design, working as a nanny, recording, and any other odd jobs I take on, I think it is safe to say I have pushed myself to the max. Hope you are having a good day!

Monumentour Tickets || Finally Seeing My Idol

Well, today has been an utter disaster. I ended up at the doctor as well as the blood lab and radiology. I am hoping to get some answers tomorrow seeing as this specific issue has been causing me pretty horrific pain for 5 days.

But on a better note, something truly earth-shatteringly amazing happened this morning. I was able to buy presale tickets to the Monumentour, which is the Paramore and Fall Out Boy tour. Paramore is one of my all time favorite bands. I have been a fan for about 8 years and everything they have ever put out is on my laptop and phone. I have been trying to see them live since 2005. I was nine years old and had fallen in love with the alternative, punk music genre. I was introduced to Fall Out Boy in 2nd grade by one of the girls in my class. I had never listened to any music like it before and fell in love instantly. It wasn't until I was talking with my mom today that I realized I have actually been a Fall Out Boy fan longer than I have been a Paramore fan. Clearly I love both an incredible amount and getting the chance to see them both together is a dream come true. I almost got to see Fall Out Boy with Panic! At The Disco this year, but I wasn't well enough at the time. Similarly, I was planning on seeing Paramore in Orlando in November but I was less than a week post surgery and although my parents were going to go against all of their parental instincts and drive me three hours away and bring me to the concert in a wheelchair, I was not well enough to go and it almost destroyed me. If having to go through the medical issue I have and the surgeries wasn't enough, now I was missing my chance to see my idols for the first time. It was really hard to accept at the time but I promised myself that the next time Paramore was here, I was going to be well enough to go.

If you have been reading my blog you will know that my most recent surgery didn't work in the way we had hoped so my medical issues are still a problem but that is not going to stop me from finally getting to see the people that have gotten me through some of my hardest times. I use music to cope and Paramore specifically has been there through me in even the darkest of times. I wish I had the money to get meet and greet tickets but because I haven't been working since surgery, it was a struggle to afford even the least expensive tickets there were, but my parents made it happen which I am so thankful for. I honestly don't care that they are not the best seats. I am going to be there for the concert and it is more than I ever could have dreamed of. I cried for quite a while this morning after I get my tickets because I was overwhelmed by how lucky I was and that I was finally getting to see them.

Honestly, this has gotten me through another rough day of pain and even more painful tests to try to identify the pain, but the whole time I just kept saying to myself "I am seeing Paramore" and it made everything okay. Sorry today's post is a little mushy, it has just been an emotional day between the tickets and my health. We also started house sitting today so as I speak I am surrounded by 4 dogs plus my dog Maddie. I will make sure to take pictures and post them because they are some of the cutest and sweetest animals I have ever met. Hope you are having a great day! Wish me luck with my test results. :)

Lots of love xoxo.

A New Year's Plan || Sunday Retrospective #1

Well hello there my beautiful blog friends. I spent today cleaning and then watching the Golden Globes, I do adore Jennifer Lawrence, how was your Sunday? I went through my closet, which was an utter disaster, and have been organizing. I am also redecorating my bedroom. I figure that as an 18 year old, it is time to get my room exactly how I want it. I plan on doing a much more in depth post when I get it all finished and exactly how I want. In other news, in the morning I start my new diet plan. I am starting off with a 5 day juice cleanse. After that I am going to be cutting out, grain, sugar, and animal products. I spent two months grain and sugar free but I have never done vegan before. I did a lot of research and I am convinced that although difficult, it is going to help me a lot. I am very much an "all or nothing" personality. I do best when I throw myself into something all the way. Easing into it is not really in my vocabulary. Also, starting tomorrow me and my parents are going to be house sitting at this beautiful house on the water for a week and a half. It is someone my mom knows' house and we stay there when they are out of town and take care of the house and dogs. It is a big, beautiful house and is always nice. I am extremely excited because I am finally getting to go to my dream city, Nashville. My dad and I are leaving on January 30th and driving up! I have an audition for the Voice on February 1st and depending on if I get a call back, we are driving home one the 5th. I am also totally excited because I am getting to spend some time with my best friend who lives outside of Nashville. I only get to see her about once a year if I am lucky and so I am looking very much forward to some extra time with her. Okay, I need to get some sleep now because I have to up in the morning for presale for the Paramore/Fall Out Boy tour, another exciting thing because I have been a Paramore fan for about 8 years and have never gotten to see them. Hayley Williams is one of my idols and the fact that I am finally going to a concert is amazing. Now I am rambling and I must go. Goodnight my dears, sleep well. See you tomorrow.

If The Jacket Fits

I am so happy right now so I am sorry if this is a tad ramble-y and disjointed. I was at Target today spending some of my Christmas and birthday gift cards and getting an external hard drive (two terabites, party time!) I was browsing the clearance section and I saw something out of the corner of my eye. A beautiful faux leather jacket in my size!! It was the only one around and on sale for $19.99! I wore it out tonight and it was crazy warm which will come in handy during my trip to Nashville in a few weeks (more info to come on Monday) It has pockets and it is so soft and I love it. I look forward to styling it with lots of outfits and and also I kinda feel like I could take over the world in this jacket.
What do you think? I love it! Sorry this is short, I am having a very rough night and don't feel much like writing. I'll have a new post tomorrow. Sleep tight my loves!

Oh What a Year || 2014 Resolutions and Changes

Here we are, the beginning of a new year. As comes along with all year beginnings, a whole batch of resolutions come with it. I have a few big ones this year and although I typically do not subscribe to the "only make changes January first" mindset, this seemed like a good time to start fresh.

2013 was a hard year for me, I'm not going to lie. There were some good things that happened during it, for example, I got to open for Little Mix in front of thousands and I got to go to Playlist Live as well as being front row for a Taylor Swift and Ed Sheeran concert. All of these things were so amazing I can't even really put it into words. There were some less than fantastic things too. A less than successful surgery, continued medical issues and insane personal stuff to name a few. I am determined to make 2014 so much better than 2013 it will be laughable.

The first thing that I am doing for 2014 is diet related. Do not get me wrong, this is not a weight loss related diet change. It is a health and wellness change. I have done a lot of research on my certain medical conditions and things that you can do to naturally help them and there were a few things that are major allergic triggers that I am going to be cutting out. I am going to be on a strict grain free, sugar free, vegan diet. I'm going to be blogging a lot about the change and how I am feeling as it goes. Also if I find any recepies I will post those. If you have any please let me know!

Another thing is that I am vlogging every day for a year on my second channel, youtube.com/kelstalks. I have a lot going on in my life this year and I want to be able to look back at the end of it and relive the experience.

My final big resolution is to work hard to further my career in any way possible. Yes, I work as a nanny and love it but it has always been my ultimate goal to be a singer. It is my one true love. I have decided to do everything I can and put every ounce of effort I have into making a big push for it and if I fall on my fsce I can deal with that at that point but I am not going down without a fight.

So, what are some of your resolutions? Are you ready for a new year? What do you want to accomplish in 2014? Let me know in the comments! I hope you are having a great year so far and I love you loads!
