Clinique "Case Of The Pretties" Palette Review

Happy New Year! I hope 2016 is off to an amazing start for all of you. I could not be more excited about the year to come. This is going to be a very exciting year for me and for my content on this blog and everywhere else you can find me on the internet. I am excited to be starting out the 2016 posts on this blog with a review of a product that I absolutely love! I received the Clinique Case of the Pretties Palette as a birthday/Christmas gift and instantly fell in love. Clinique is one of my favorite brands for skincare and I have loved any makeup that I had tried from them in the past and this palette was no exception.

This palette includes 2 blushes, 7 eye shadows and 4 lip colors. It comes in a compact case with a large mirror that makes it perfect for travel.

As you can see, I have gotten a chance to use the products a few times already so that I can give a full, honest review of them.

All of the eyeshadows are incredibly pigmented. They are all creamy and have an amazing color payoff and almost no fallout. I also love that there are enough different colors that compliment each other that you can create multiple eye looks from this palette alone. (Swatches start from the top right corner of shadows and move to the left)

My personal favorite is the larger, highlight shade. It is a beautiful, warm tone, champagne color. It had a nice shimmer to it without being full of glitter. I think it could even work beautifully as a highlight for your cheekbones if you like a bright highlighter.

The palette also includes 4 lip colors. There is a completely matte, true red lipstick. Two more classic, glossy finish lipsticks in a beautiful deep nude color and a warm berry color. The final color is a sheer, shimmery nude that looks like a gloss on the lips. These are easiest to apply with a lip brush.

The final products in the palette are 2 cheek colors. Both colors fall into the mauve family. The top color is a much lighter color that leaves a beautiful flush of pink color on the cheeks and still looks very natural. The bottom color is darker and a perfect color for the winter. It is very pigmented so you need to make sure that you are using it lightly in order to get the most natural color.

Overall, I think this is one of the most impressive "multi purpose" palette that I own. You could take this on a trip with you and be totally set with eye shadow, lip color and blush. It is amazing to have a product where you have all of those options and all of them are amazing quality products.

The Clinique Case of the Pretties Palette was limited edition for the holidays but I highly recommend getting your hands on one if there is any way.

Disney Dining: Raglan Road Irish Pub

As some of you may know a few weeks ago I took an amazing trip to Disney World with some family. On my last day there we went to Downtown Disney for the day. We had an amazing lunch at Raglan Road, an Irish Pub.

It was their Sunday brunch so there was a band and Irish dancers which added to the meal nicely. Two of my little cousins even got to go up and dance on the stage.

I had the Salmon Swoon. Choice Irish smoked salmon served with capers, shallots & crème fraiche. It was fantastic. I also got it with a side of "chips" which are fries. What I got was an appetizer but was more than enough for my lunch.

If you are less of a fish fan and more a fan of traditional lunch foods there are perfect options as well. Two of the people I was with split the Luscious Tart (Grilled asparagus and mushrooms, mixed greens, grape tomatoes & shaved parmesan on a warm caramelized red onion puff pastry tart with shrimp) and the Lobster Club (Lobster & avocado salad, crispy prosciutto, watercress & citrus herb mayonnaise). I have an allergy to shellfish so unfortunately I wasn't able to try either of these but the consensus from the table was that they were amazing. It is half of each portion in the picture below. Each is very large.

One of my three year old cousins got the Heaven on Earth (Baby back ribs tossed in a Guinness glaze). It is an appetizer but was a perfect size. I was able to try one and they live up to their name! Sadly I don't have a picture of these, they were so good that they didn't last that long!

My uncle got the Banger & Booz (Guinness & onion banger on mash, topped with caramelized onions & beef stew). It is a sort of modern twist on a more traditional Bangers and Mash.

We ended our meal, on the recommendation of our waitress, with Ger’s Bread & Butter Pudding. We were told that we could all share it. We were a little skeptical seeing as there were 5 adults and 3 kids. Let me tell you, this is deceptively huge. It was also one of the best desserts that I have ever had, no lie. It came with a butterscotch sauce and vanilla creme anglaise.

It was an amazing meal and we had a great time. I will certainly be going back the next time I am at Disney. Stay tuned for more Disney posts this week!

Mac PatentPoish Lip Pencil Review || Kittenish

So I splurged today....I went into Mac and the sales associate showed me these new lip pencils and I fell in love. They are the PatentPolish Lip Pencil. I swatched all of the colors and tried on the one that I ended up buying and fell in love. It is a great, fun, girly pink color. What is amazing about these pencils is that they are essentially a lip stick and lip gloss in one. They have an amazing glossy finish and are perfect for no-fuss lips. It is also great because the twist-up pencil allows for easy reapplication throughout the day if needed. I will say that I have only been wearing it for about two hours but so far it has stayed amazingly! Here are some pictures of it.

I absolutley recommend checking these out next time you are at Mac. At $20 each they are a bit of a splurge, but you also get a lot of amazing product. I am honestly thinking this will be my new go-to everyday lip stick! If you get one make sure to tweet me a pic, I would love to see them!

Makeup Review and Look: CoverGirl Clean Sensitive Skin Foundation

Hello my dears, today we are back with a more typical blog post. As I am still feeling most under the weather it is not the typical Monday mode and is just kind of a fun product review. The rest of this week will most likely be a tad random and then next week I will be introducing my typical weekly schedule!! Are you as excited as I am?? Without further ado, let's jump into my review of CoverGirl's Clean Sensitive Skin foundation.

Let me apologize in advance for the lower quality photos as these were taken in poor light on my iPhone.

I was at Walgreens today and of course, I had to stop by the makeup to see if there were any sales. I came across this foundation that I had never used. Best of all, it was on sale for $3.99. To be honest, I have never had the best luck with the traditional liquid foundation and have stuck more to bb creams and cream or mousse foundations. I was intrigued to try this because it was a sensitive skin formula.

Off the bat, I had an issue with the design of the bottle. There was no pump or anything and I had to shake the bottle for about 5 minutes to get the slightest amount out and then had to repeat. The flaw in the design is a minor detail to me.

The formula was very creamy which was a plus to me. I used my Real Techniques Expert Face brush to apply and it went on very smoothly. It covered the redness of my skin very well which is always a big concern for me. I would say the coverage is about medium which is perfect for me on a regular day. It applied quickly and easily and I was already pleased.

Without any face makeup

With foundation (I also had some eye makeup on)

I loved the finish and the coverage and I think it sat well on my skin. It was fairly matte but still looked natural. I am definitely going to be using this foundation and highly recommend it.

I then went and completed the look the way I typically would.

I started by using my DreamLumi concealer.

Next I set it with my All About Matt translucent powder.

My next step was to add bronzer. I use the bronzer from my Sephoa Palette. (The top of the photo)

To complete my face I used a touch of blush, also from the same palette. (The bottom color in the photo)

Finally I finished my look with some eyeliner (Ulta Gel liner in Primetime), a touch of mascara (Benefit They're Real) and some lipstick (Ulta Lipstick in 237).

It is a fairly simple and clean look but I love it. If I am going out during the day and wearing makeup, I typically wear a look like this.

I hope you are having a fantastic Monday and I will talk to you tomorrow.

Kelsey

P.S. In just a little bit I will be posting the weekly schedule that I will be using starting next week.
